FAQ's
-
Can I display my stone art or coasters outside for long periods of time? No. The UV ink cannot protect your stone product from direct sunlight exposure, this will cause the ink to break down faster. They are water resistant but not waterproof.
-
Will condensation from my drink or heat cause damage to my stone coaster or trivet? Our coasters and trivets are heat and water-resistant. Some textured stones may be more porous where the condensation may soak into the stone but if you have a stone with lots of texture and openings excessive condensation may drip through an opening.
-
What is the material you use?We tested many different stone products to achieve the best results for a rustic look and genuine stone feel. Our pieces are substantial - you may find that they are a little heavier than your standard stone coaster. Our travertine and tumbled marble is sourced globally, (typically in the Mediterranean) in both smooth and textured finishes. We find the inks adhere best to these surfaces and the colour stays true on our marble pieces.
-
How can I display my coasters, trivets, or custom stone art pieces? All coasters and trivets come with four silicone tabs on the back to protect the finish of your furniture. Alternatively, you can ask about or recycled barnboard stands. Our larger stone pieces arrive ready to hang with our plastic-coated stainless-steel wire and two silicone tabs to protect your wall.
-
How long can I expect my Stone coaster to last? These durable stones will last for years if handled like any piece of functional art. We recommend you follow our care instructions: Gently wipe clean with a damp cloth to remove any liquid promptly. Avoid soaking or using abrasive cleaning products or methods. Do not place it in the dishwasher or use it as a cutting board with sharp objects.

How do you print on stone coasters? To begin, we carefully select a piece of natural stone as each one is unique. We visually inspect it to ensure it is suitable for printing. Each stone has a natural variation in texture and colour, making it a one-of-a-kind, rustic piece of functional art. Some images are better suited for textured stone. Images such as portraits of people or pets and photos with focus on detail are only suitable for smooth stone. Once the stone is selected, it is washed, brushed, and cleaned to ensure proper adherence of ink. Our pieces are printed with a high-quality UV printer in our studio with a simultaneous white underprinting to enhance the brightness of our eco-friendly UV-cured inks. This process ensures a superior quality print that is extremely durable. Upon print completion, it is inspected for quality. When we print on the reverse side, the entire process is repeated. This is why coasters with a custom imprint on the back take a little longer to create.
-
Can I use my own photography for custom Stone Art pieces?Yes, please email us and we will work with you to make a custom piece! Please note that the higher resolution of the file you are providing, the better the image will look on the stone.
-
Can the large pieces be used as food trays or charcuterie boards? No, any liquid left on these pieces will absorb, they are not waterproof. If you cut on these pieces of stone, you will break the UV Ink seal.
